What distance are we targeting?

We are focusing on getting you off the cOuch to 5 km. Someone might say that 5 km is too short a distance but ask those who haven’t done it yet. Putting together, La Ultra, the world’s craziest ultra run in Ladakh since 2010, where longest distance has been 555 km (yes, you read that right), I realised that getting people to run longer once they’ve got to 111 km etc. is a lot easier than getting someone to get off their royal backsides and get moving.

Are there different categories?

There are 3 categories we are looking at.

  • Beginners: Who don't even walk currently

  • Intermediate: Walk at least 15-20 min as form of exercise

  • Advanced: Run 15-20 min at least 2-3 times a week and would want to become better at 5 km

What will the program involve?

We will share a weekly training program that'll be customised further based on how the week goes for you.

Once a week we'll have an online exercise session:

  • A senior physiotherapist specialising in sports medicine will demonstrate the weekly exercises

We will also catch up once a week on Zoom (or something similar) to discuss queries about the following and more:

  • Walking, Running, Hydration, Nutrition, Exercise (Stretching & Strengthening), Fitness

  • Aches and Pains - Back, Neck, Knee, Foot, Ankle

What about time till the start of the program?

If you want to start running, it is crucial that you start with not running. Also, we need a solid foundation comprising of mobility, strength and flexibility. We’ll want you get started with going out there and walking for 10-20 minutes. Also do basic exercises with you.
